Sharon Dudley-Brown, FNP-BC

Sharon Dudley-Brown, PhD, FNP-BC, FAAN, FAANP, is a distinguished family nurse practitioner with over 30 years of experience in various healthcare settings, including primary care, urgent care, and gastroenterology. She currently serves as an associate professor at the University of Delaware School of Nursing, where she teaches in the Doctor of Nursing Practice Program. Additionally, Dr. Dudley-Brown holds a faculty appointment in the Department of Medicine's Division of Gastroenterology & Hepatology at Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. ​

Throughout her career, Dr. Dudley-Brown has been recognized for her clinical excellence, notably receiving the Miller-Coulson Clinical Excellence Award at Johns Hopkins in 2017. She is a Fellow of both the American Academy of Nursing (2012) and the American Association of Nurse Practitioners (2018). An internationally recognized leader in gastroenterology nursing, she has served as a visiting professor and consultant in New Zealand and has numerous publications and presentations in the fields of inflammatory bowel disease, gastroenterology, and nursing. Dr. Dudley-Brown is also a co-editor of the textbook "Translation of Evidence Into Nursing and Health Care," now in its fourth edition. ​

In her clinical practice, Dr. Dudley-Brown independently manages patients with inflammatory bowel disease and collaborates with physicians in the IBD center at Johns Hopkins. She practices at Rheumatology & Gastroenterology Associates, PC, located at 615 W Macphail Rd, Bel Air, MD 21014, and is accepting new patients. ​

Dr. Dudley-Brown's extensive experience and contributions to nursing and gastroenterology make her a highly respected practitioner and educator in her field.
